When you have damaged or missing teeth, a crown or a bridge from Bedford Dental may be the solution to protect and correct your smile.
Dental crowns, also known as “caps,” cover the whole visible part of a tooth. Placing a crown over a damaged tooth can restore strength, appearance and function. Dental crowns also can cover misshapen teeth and are usually used to protect a tooth after a root canal treatment. At Bedford Dental, we offer both traditional and porcelain crowns to restore your smile. We will work with you to determine which type of restoration best fits your needs.
Dental bridges are just that, bridges that span a gap where a tooth or teeth are missing between natural teeth. A dental bridge has three parts: two crowns and the artificial tooth or teeth. The two dental crowns are placed on your healthy teeth on each side of your missing tooth or teeth. These supporting teeth are referred to as abutment teeth. False teeth, referred to as pontics, replace missing teeth. Usually, bridges are one piece and are permanently cemented into place with dental crowns on both of the abutment teeth.
If you have lost or damaged teeth as a result of decay, defects or injury, crowns and bridges may be able to restore the beauty of your smile. Bedford Dental specializes in restorations that can change your life! For more information on our crowns and bridges, contact Bedford Dental at (708) 496-8896.
